HITtheWALL camp 27-30/5 Carlingford, Ireland

My journey started 26/5 when I arrived in Dublin. Every time I get to Ireland I feel so welcome. Thank you! Jacqueline picked me up at the airport and we whent for som shopping in Newry.

The next morning I come alone with Olive, Owen and Milo for setting the corse for the evening/ night swim in Victoria Loch.

At noon we whent for lunch in Newry and after that back to Victoria Lock for setting the tent and putting up the flags and waiting for the press to come.

After a long day it was time for an afternoon 1K swim. I was shocked it was not coold!! It was okej.... what an relief.

After the swim we whent to the house where we were going to stay.

(the view from the house)

Next on the schedule was the night swim in Victoria Lock

On this night swim I was in the lead from the start I had I phenomenal kajaker who stayed bye my side the whole time 3k less than an hour!

I felt good after the swim. We whent back to the house for a sleep, I whent to bed with a bad headache and woke up with an even worse headache so I couldent swim in the morning. I had some breakfast and whent back to bed.

The next swim was going to be in the afternoon at 13.00 at South Pier Carlinford Lough I swam 6.2K in 2 hours.

My number were 39 :) and I swam the corse to the right. You to make sure that the responsible had your no when you got into the water and when you got out of the water for saifty.

After the swim me and Matthias from Germany whent to Newry to eat we were supose to go to town and I thought that the town were Newry and not Carlingford were we were supose to have dinner with Elina and Pawel. So wrong it could be. And we had to get back to the hous as well because I had my pc there and I was going to have my talk in the just 2 hours efter finish our swim!

First Pawel had his talk first about technique it was very interesting. He showed us films on a swimmer named Emma.

And after Pawel it was my turn! Both me and Pawel had new pc so we couldn't conect our pc with the projector. To bad. Jacqueline try to sort it out to copy my power point pressentation to a word dokument but it didn't work. So I had to talk without my presentation. But Im going to put it on my webbside. As soon as I know how.

I talked about the North Channel. My first time in Bangor no swim, my second time I did my solo swim  and the third time two way relay world record.Fast and Frozen!

Back to the house try to get some sleep for the next day. Swim start at 8.30 at Carlingford south pier. We were going to have a race 2.2K

Padraig had the information meeting befor the raice.

Line up in the water.

And in the water we got and waited for aprox 5 min befor the start and of we whent....

Elina and Pawel were the fastest and then Patrick and some no 110 and then me !!!!

Back to the house for food befor the next session. That was going to be a 3h swim.

Afternoon session on sunday started in good waither ended up with some raindropps.

I swam 7.8K in 2h 33min, we swam along the costline and we could do some loops when we got back. Some of us whent bye car but most of the swimmers whent bye boat to the start in Omeath.

The swim started and it felt like a raice for me but after a wile it got better. And I was doing my own swim.

After that swim we whent back to the house for a quick shower and than back to Carlingford for listening to Kevin ''The King of the Channel'' Murphy.

Kevin, me and Padraig.

Kevin, he's such a nice person. And to my right is another fantastic person Padraig.

After Kevin speak me and Mattias whent back to the hous for some sleep. Because we were going to do our  6h swim the next day.

Monday morning were very windy so the organisation Infinity Channel swimming decided to move the 9 of us who were going to swim the 6h to the other side of Carlinford and we were going to start at Ometh and cross the water so we would be on the carm side. Good decision! We swam for 2h down to a place were we started to swim loops but it was to shallow so we swam a little further along the coast and that was good and after 1h we returnd and started to swim back to Omeath. When I got back I had 1,5 h to just to swim around until, Mattias and some other swimmer arrived I swam to meet them and cross the border together. After we crossed the border we still had to circulate on the other side around a sailing boat twice. Until it was time to finish the swim.

Information meeting about the 6h swim. 11 degrees in the air coold winds and 12 degrees in the water!

We did it !! A happy piture of me and Mattias.

What we didnt know were that we would have packed before swimming so when we got back all our stuff were allready packed. And Im pleased but I dont like when someone else have packed my things. And I just started to repack my suitcase. And got some clean clothes from my bag that I could put on after the shower at the hotell near bye. Into the town of Carlingford for the termination of the camp and to get the certificate of the 6h swim.

Im very prowd to stand next to Kevin Murphy and with one of my besta frinds in Ireland Padraig!

A massiv thank you to Infinity Channel swimming for a fantastic training camp. You really did  a phenomenal job! Well done!

See you next year.
